Blueberry-Honey Sweet Tea

The oven is fixed! I haven't made anything yet, so just hold your horses. My baking rhythm has been thrown off from all of the tornadoes, I think.
I feel like there's a lot going on lately, so I bring you this boring tea recipe. Ohh, it's so boring. Who needs a recipe for tea? Nobody. Whatever. I don't care. I like the pictures...so I'm posting it.
I love, love iced tea. I drink a huge pitcher of it in less than a week. The water in the Ozarks tastes like hillbilly, so I like to mask the flavor with tea, and other flavors. Like blueberry juice and honey!

P.S. Go David Cook! Representing the great state of Missouri since January 2008.

Blueberry-Honey Sweet Tea (Recipe by Emiline)

Ingredients:
3 quarts water, divided
3 family-sized tea bags
3/4 cup blueberry juice
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon honey

Directions:
In a large saucepan, bring 1 1/2 quarts water to a simmer. Remove pan from heat, add tea, and steep for 10 minutes. Remove tea bags; add blueberry juice, sugar, and honey, and stir until combined. Add mixture to a pitcher, then stir in additional 1 1/2 quarts water.

I am so happy about your stove. We just had three days with no hot water and hat unsettled me....The tea looks lovely and refreshing.

I love flavoured teas Em. Now all we need is some warm sunshine and a nice iced tea will be perfect.

I don't think the recipe is boring and the pictures are great! I love them.

Emiline, that looks pretty darn good. The water here in So Cal is icky too. Where would one find blueberry juice? Trader Joes, perhaps?

i haven't been watching american idol, but i can't avoid hearing about it and it sounds like your boy rubbed some people the wrong way last night. hope you don't get disappointed!

lovely tea, by the way. i'll take anything blueberried.

You know, I'm not a tea drinker, but I just have to tell you how much I love your photos. Drinks are the hardest thing to photograph, but you've done this one very well!

With warmer water I always search for new tastydrinks that dont neccesarily contain alcohol. So this post was brillant. I would have thought the waters in the Ozarks would be oure and fresh.

Don't tell me this is a dumb question, but where did the blueberry juice come from? It's so funny I saw this now, because I JUST had PINEAPPLE iced tea at Zen Palate. It was gooooooooood. Very chewy and texture-y.

Those photos are good enough that they want me to make tea even though I rarely drink it!

That sounds really good! I like to add sparkling mineral water to my iced tea sometimes, too.

I can't wait to see what you bake next now that your oven is fixed!

Em, it's an original idea and looks delicious so no apologies please. I keep iced tea on hand all summer long so I will absolutely try your concoction, if you can steer me towards where I would find blueberry juice?

Glad your stove is fixed, broken appliances are such a total bummer!!

This sounds like a yummy combo :). Blueberries are so healthy too!

That looks yummy! I'm not sure where I'd find blueberry juice though. I suppose I could puree blueberries and strain out the pulp...

I like David Cook. Very talented. I'd like to see him win.

Sweet tea is mother's milk. No seriously, my mom practically put this in my bottle. But not with pretty berries and honey, just good old, honest white shooga.

Yayy for the oven being fixed. Now you just have to get your game back and deliver delectible divine delights - that's 4 D's together.

The blueberry tea would work - maybe you could make some blueberry scones to go with them - I'm reallly craving scones.

Yay. You got your oven back.

Yesterday would have been a great iced tea day. Sadly, the weather has taken a downturn once again before I could get a good iced tea day back. Hopefully it will get better soon.

Is it just me, or does David Cook have the biggest head ever???

I've miss you, sweet Em...can't wait to catch up with your blog!

Sorry to hear about your stove as I missed your post but it's good you're back to baking again. I love ice tea and I imagine it must taste great.

No more cold leftovers. Hooray-you'll be cruising up to 350 degrees in no time! Great news.

Welcome back Em.

I had stove trouble last year, so I know how that one goes. Also glad you didn't get gobbled up with a tornado. Things got pretty scary around these parts on Saturday.

I'm sure the tea is lovely, it certainly looks pretty. But being a Brit I like my tea hot with a dash of milk. :-)

Nice photos. I haven't tried adding flavours to teas yet. It sounds interesting.

This tea looks really nice.

You are too funny. What does hillbilly water taste like? Is there is hint of B.O or a light scent of hay?

Listen to that, it's David Cross doing stand up.
The best part is towards the end.

Sorry for the delayed response. You can find blueberry juice at the grocery store. I found several brands, and I live in the middle of nowhere.

Those are great pics- very mouth watering.
The tea sounds delish, and perhaps would take a shot of whiskey like a champ?
