Pink Pomegranate-Raspberry Sangria

>> Sunday, July 27, 2008

Lots of pictures, but nothing going on here today that's worth writing about. I wish I had something interesting to report.
I wish I had some pancakes or waffles. I never get to eat them. Maybe peanut butter waffles. Is that possible? Or waffles with crushed up Butterfingers in them. Somebody work on that idea and report back to me.

The other night I was in a celebratory mood, and decided to make a pitcher of sangria. Oh, and later I went to see The Dark Knight, and discovered it's the longest movie ever made. Batman was really raspy in the movie. I had no idea he was a smoker.
But yeah, that Christian Bale is a piece of eye candy. I don't care what he "did" ...I could stare at him for hours. (And I did, because this movie was sooo long!)
And Heath Ledger was really, really good. :(

This is the stuff you need. It's cheap and delicious.

Where was I...so, this sangria is really, really good, too. It's made with wine, raspberry-ginger ale, pomegranate schnapps and raspberries. But it will sneak up on you - just a warning. It's rather potent. You'll find yourself behaving in ways you wouldn't imagine......

This is a great cocktail for parties where you don't know the people very well.

I'm sending this to Heather, from Diary of a Fanatic Foodie. She's hosting a cocktail event, where you make a drink, featuring seasonal produce. I used fresh raspberries in mine, so I guess that works. I wish I had some fresh mint to put in it.

Beth Sunday, July 27, 2008

The only reson I go on holiday to Spain a lot is bacuase of the Sangria! Well that and the wonderful food, beaches etc etc. This looks great, the more potent the better if you ask me!

Jules Sunday, July 27, 2008

This looks like just my type of cocktail!

VeggieGirl Sunday, July 27, 2008

I vote for making HAZELNUT-BUTTER waffles!! That would be quite scrumptious.

Yes, Christian Bale is definitely hot ;0)

What a gorgeous drink!!

You need to switch to bartending rather than waiting tables. This looks so good, but Im going to behave today.I saw the movie amd loved it. I think Christians mother and sister may be opportunists trying to generate some press to get money, so I will think postiviley of him.But he is a method actor. Just my opinion. But there was a lot eye candy in that movie. Even Aaron in the first half.

Now THAT is a summer drink. Drink that when you don't know people very well... I couldn't agree more :) I bet Sangria means party in some languages.

Bellini Valli Sunday, July 27, 2008

This is something 'Lil Burnt Toast and I could make together. You may see it for our next mother/daughter movie night:D Sangria always reminds me of Cuba or maybe Bellini's at Joeys topped with Sangria:D

That sounds sensational. Looks like it has great "special" effects too.

Wow, this sounds like the perfect summer drink. It's really such a creative and nice combination of flavors.

Grace Monday, July 28, 2008

LOL

Jenny Monday, July 28, 2008

What nice pictures! I'm thinking the same thing about Christian Bale, what a hottie. They goofed on his batman voice though, it was way too low and raspy.

Sophie Monday, July 28, 2008

I could really use one of these right now...especially after all of the packing. Great submission...still thinking of what I'm gonna do. BTW, I am so jealous of your hair! :D

Lo Monday, July 28, 2008

Lovely Emiline - this is a drink after my own heart! And that Reed's soda -- to die for! Must pick some up.

CookiePie Monday, July 28, 2008

That looks sooooooo refreshing!

Aimée Monday, July 28, 2008

This post made me thirsty. That pitcher looks a mile high in that last shot and would really torture someone reading from a dry desert.

Veronica Monday, July 28, 2008

What a pretty drink...I've had butterfinger waffles at some restaurant way back when-oh boy, good.

Emiline Monday, July 28, 2008

Thanks everyone!

Brittany- Thank you! Are you sure bout that? It's thick. Very thick.

Glamah- Bartending might be kind of fun, actually.

Grace- Yes! I know that movie. He did look really scary.

Sophie- Thanks. See comment to Brittany, above.

Veronica- I'm really considering making some.

Sue Tuesday, July 29, 2008

I never heard of raspberry ginger ale and I'm not sure if I've ever seen pomegranate schnapps, but that sure does look tasty.

Janna Thursday, July 31, 2008

Bestill my heart. This sounds great!

Haley Friday, August 01, 2008

oh wow! definitely making this one! i love anything with pomegranate!

Colin's Mom Friday, August 01, 2008

Thanks for responding to my question regarding my Mom's cake. Her birthday is next Sunday so I have another week. I'm not a huge orange fan either but since that was her first suggestion, I'm inclined to go with it. I found an Orange Chiffon cake with Orange filling and buttercream icing on Southern Living's website. Right now, I'm going with that one unless you come up with something better! Thanks for thinking for me!

I made this last night as a surprise for my boyfriend along with the ale brownies w/ macadamia nuts from a couple months ago & both were incredible! I have now subscribed to your blog's feed; you have a real gift for combining flavors!

Pink pomegranate raspberry sangria looks most excellent for a summer afternoon drink. I did not know that pomegranate schnapps existed!

Colin's Mom, that sounds really good! I would go with that. I've been so busy lately, I don't know if I'll be able to find anything. Cookie Madness always has great desserts - you should check there.

Uncomplicatedly, you are so sweet! You made my night. I'm glad they turned out so well, and I hope your boyfriend enjoyed.

Teresa Sunday, August 03, 2008
