Ahh yes, there's nothing better than some homemade all-natural peanut butter! Your photos of it make my mouth water. I like that you added honey too - sounds extra delicious!
ReplyDeleteYou're awesome, Em. Homemade peanut butter for cookies! Just keep in mind that if you do retire to Florida, there will still be internet. =P
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome, especially with the recent PB recalls/shortages! Your peanut butter looks delicious--and I love the idea of a touch of honey :)
ReplyDeleteHome made peanut butter? You're officially a godess baker! It looks perfect.
ReplyDeletePs. Don't retire anytime soon! I've thought about it too..but I don't see myself actually disliking baking anytime soon..so why would I permanently stop?
I love the idea of adding honey. Thanks for the tip
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'm glad you aren't retiring any time soon. Phew!
That looks amazing! I've been wanting to make my own peanut butter for awhile but I don't think my food processor would hold up- it's a off-brand magic bullet and it is is slowly dying. Until I get a decent one, I buy the cheap, natural stuff from TJ or WF, which actually taste nice and creamy. Coming from someone who grew up on the trans-fat-packed jars, that is saying a lot!
ReplyDeleteYou can visit me in Florida :)
ReplyDeleteYour peanut butter recipe made me drool. I got a jar of wholenut butter the other day and am trying desperatley to make it last, but darn it it goes with everything! I eat it on salad, stir fry, cereal, porridge, and I just ate some on a banana.
ReplyDeleteThis will make an epic christmas pressie (for myself...ahem...)
Can't wait to try out your recipes, might do the apple butterscotch cake as my apple tree is still full.
My dance teacher used a swing version of that song in ballroom class! Brought back memories!
ReplyDeleteI love your use of honey. That is a classic combo. I think I like PB-honey-banana sandwiches even more than PBJs.
I've often thought about making my own peanut butter, just didn't realize how easy it is, I like the idea of adding honey to it as well, that nice sweetness is a nice touch!!!
ReplyDeleteIn fact the 'peanut butter & jelly' song was running through my head as I read your post...now it is stuck there.
ReplyDeleteI've never thought to do this before but it is a great idea. I love purchasing little tubs of the freshly ground peanut butter with chocolate at Whole Foods. Hmmmm...now there's an idea. ;)
Emily, you're tugging at my heartstrings here.. homemade PB is the BEST! And those cookies look all too amazing..
ReplyDeleteI still sing the peanut song only now it's peppered with explosions of "It's peanut butter jelleh time"..
You're so smart. AND what a great recipe just when the price of peanut butter has skyrocketed. Has the price of peanuts gone up too, I wonder?
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about bloggers who are no longer active. I just looked in on one the other day and was sad to see nothing posted since 2010. Thankfully, YOU blog enough for all of us. Keep it up.
I've never thought about making homemade peanut butter... I didn't know it was so easy! I love the idea of adding honey too. P.S. Those peanut butter cookies look amazing!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE peanut butter! I've never thought of making my own.
ReplyDeletei have NO plans on retiring either. But making peanut butter? I totally see that in my future.

Ahhh, I love *love* homemade peanut butter! I need to grab my food processor tomorrow and get this going.
ReplyDeleteI think all retired blogs should go to their own cemetery, sort of like Ben & Jerry's flavors. Then we can all go visit them!
Love this. Wish I had a food processor to make my own too. One day.
ReplyDeleteoooh, this look so good. if you use unsalted peanuts, then do you need honey?
ReplyDeleteHomemade peanut butter would be so much better than the store bought stuff.
ReplyDeleteBizzy Baker found you. Come on over and look and see.
