(My adapted version) Timothy the Elder's Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies
1 cup unsalted butter
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
2/3 cup unsweetened dark cocoa powder (Hershey's Dark)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (Reeses)
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup mini Reeses Pieces
3/4 cup coarsely chopped Reeses peanut butter cups
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
1/2 cup chocolate covered peanuts
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat; cook 2-3 minutes, whisking frequently, until foams and starts to turn golden brown. Transfer butter to a large mixing bowl.
In a medium mixing bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Add sugar, brown sugar and peanut butter to bowl with browned butter. Mix together, using a mixer on medium speed, until well combined – about 1 minute. Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined – about 1 minute. Reduce mixer speed to low and beat in flour mixture until just combined. Stir in Reeses Pieces, peanut butter cups, chocolate chip and peanuts until just combined.
Drop rounded tablespoons full of dough onto cookie sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes or until well risen and set.
Those are some luscious cookies!!!
ReplyDeleteFunny post! These sound yummy....peanut butter cookies with cocoa powder. And yes, I love eating reese's pieces at the movies:-)
ReplyDeleteBTW - I got my Shabby Apple Apron and I have to say it's even cuter in real life - thank you again!
You can never ever go wrong with peanut butter and chocolate. This only heightens my affinity to peanut butter. Great recipe :)
ReplyDeleteYummy! I love that you changed just about every single ingredient but still called them Tim's cookies. ;) So nice of you.
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness gracious, these look heavenly! reese's pieces + chocolate is the best combo ever. making these for sure!
ReplyDeleteYou and Tim are geniuses. Together you have created the motherload of cookie goodness! :D
ReplyDeletebtw Happy birthday, Tim!
Peanut butter and chocolate... Combination that please a lot of us! These looks good!
ReplyDeleteThese cookies sound so yummy!
ReplyDeleteHow could these be anything but yummy? And you're right, Reese's pieces are the best ever.
ReplyDeleteBTW, your dishes and linens are looking lovely.
There is so much good stuf in there that I can't believe there is room for a cookie! Oh how I love a good chocolate/pb combination!
ReplyDeleteYou are so making me want to break my diet! I'm down four pounds and I have 36 to go...must...resist...cookies.
These look so amazing!
ReplyDeleteMy fav combo ever. Choc + pb = trulove4ev!
ReplyDeleteSidebar: You need to make some adult gummy bears. Soak them in vodka for a few days. They become plump & ripe with alcoholic goodness. Mmmm.
ReplyDeleteOk-I'm allergic to peanut butter, but I think Reece's peanut butter is saltier than others. The salt lends itself to taste better for confectionery items paired with chocolate.
ooh, browned butter? yes please, way to step up the traditional pb cookie!
ReplyDeleteThe more peanut ingredients you cram in a cookie, the better, I say!

they do look so scrumptious and thick, yummy.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure that even if they're not EXACTLY the same, they're still mega delicious. Which is all that matters. Peanut butter and chocolate = heaven food.
ReplyDeleteThese look SO good. I love how you used so many chocolate and peanut products in one cookie! Reese's Pieces were always my favorite candy growing up, but for some reason I never really think to use them in cookies.
ReplyDeleteThose look so YUMMY!!
ReplyDeleteYum!! These look awesome!
ReplyDeleteThis look Delicious…You have made it awesome..Totally YUMMO..

the tim-esque cookies sound great, but i'm ruined now by the thought of cinnamon popcorn!
ReplyDeleteReeses Pieces are my favorite movie candy.
ReplyDeleteHere in NYC they don't really hunt you down for bringing in food like they do in the midwest. I sat next to a woman who pulled out a quarter of a watermelon (whole--not cut up) and proceeded to eat it right there....
Oh great! I love the colors in it!
ReplyDeleteYUM! Those would not last long in my house!
ReplyDeleteMmmm reese's ....... I know I've seen the Reese's Peanut Butter on a grocery shelf somewhere in Chicago, but can't remember which grocery! If I find it, I'll ship it to ya.
