Crock Pot Hot Chocolate

10 cups reduced fat milk
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1/4 teaspoon salt

Place all ingredients in a crock pot.  Cook on high for 1 1/2 hours, whisking occasionally, until smooth.  For extra creamy and smooth hot chocolate, blend using an immersion blender... this removes any graininess.

  2. Somewhere I have a recipe for that classic French style hot chocolate where you make a thick chocolate syrup and then dilute it with as much milk as you like. I have yet to make it. Must remedy that. I wonder if that's doable in a crock pot.

If you're serving this for a party, it probably couldn't hurt to add a bit of kahlua, or Baileys, or Frangelico. Just sayin...

  3. I think crockolate is a stunning idea. I'm so excited for your family coming to your graduation and getting to go home. I can't believe you'll be graduating already. Seems so quick but you have learned so much. Thanks for sharing your journey.

  5. I'm so glad you're getting to go home for Christmas - that's a huge gift all by itself!! Plus you're going to have them there when you graduate - you must all be so excited and proud!

We're all really proud of you too to make it through this. Can't believe it's already six months. If you hear cheering and clapping coming from every direction on Friday, you'll know it's your fan club going crazy out here in blogland.

Thanks for all the cookie ideas and the crockolate suggestion. I try to use my crockpot too but find planning ahead a bit of a problem.

I have all kinds of ideas for my crock pot, but rarely put them to use.
