Strawberry Shortcake Milkshake

Ingredients:
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
2-3 tablespoons milk
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup vanilla ice cream
3/4 cup milk

Directions:
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.  Coat a cookie sheet with cooking spray.

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt; knead in butter, using fingertips until well incorporated.  Stir in milk until combined and dough starts to clump together.  Place the crumbles on the cookie sheet.  Bake 15-20 minutes or until light golden brown.

To make the shake, combine strawberries, ice cream and milk in a blender; blend until smooth.  Stir in the shortcake crumbles, pour into glasses, and serve.

Makes 1 large shake or 2 smaller shakes

  2. I am a HUGE fan of milkshakes though I don't let myself have them enough. Not sure why since they're OBVIOUSLY calcium-rich health food. This looks so berrylicious.

  4. Strawberry milkshakes are my favorite kind! I don't know if you have Potbelly's where you live, but I used to work next to one and got into a very dangerous strawberry milkshake habit.

    Good luck apartment hunting!

  6. I can't remember the last time I had a milkshake. Yours looks so good - way better than any milkshake I ever had. And fries dipped into milkshakes is THE BEST!
