Marbled Nutella Banana Bread
Ingredients:
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 9-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
In a medium mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
In a large mixing bowl, using a mixer on medium speed, beat together banana, butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until creamy and well combined - about 2 minutes. Beat in eggs until well combined - about 2 minutes. Reduce mixer speed to low and beat in flour mixture until just combined. Divide 1/2 of of the batter into a medium bowl; stir in Nutella until combined.
Alternate spoonfuls of batter into loaf pan until all of the batter is used up. Swirl batter gently with a knife (not too much!). Bake 1 hour or until well risen, deep golden brown, and a toothpick inserted into bread comes out with moist crumbs attached.

YUM! This would save me the trouble of trying to spread the thick Nutella on the crumbly banana bread. Awesome, Emily!
ReplyDeleteBread definitely sounds yummy. Can't screw up with adding a little Nutella to most anything.
ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing! But then again, I love anything with Nutella.
ReplyDeleteI've made this before and it is too good! Your right its hard to not eat it all.
ReplyDeleteYum delicious. I'd love to try this with pumpkin too!
ReplyDelete...I sort of want to go home and make this immediately after work!
ReplyDeleteoh this looks so good!!!
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the Aldi version of Nutella? It's about half the price and comes in a big glass jar. And it's good!
ReplyDeleteOh my lanta, you are my women. This recipe is perfect harmony. I can hear the Hallelujah course! xo

oh wow, what a tease! can't wait to hear your news :) This looks awesome, i keep nutella out of the house for a reason, but this kinda makes me want to go invest!
ReplyDeleteIt is a great idea to marble a simple banana bread with Nutella. I will definitly try this!
ReplyDeleteI made one of your other banana bread recipes a few months ago...the one with peanut butter and a chocolate swirl, and it was awesome. I'll have to try this one the next time I have ripe bananas to use (which is often because I always buy too many!) Looks great!
ReplyDelete- Maggie
holy yum! love the idea of putting nutella in banana bread! Brilliant :) And sounds too good to be true haha
ReplyDeleteWait wait wait. Hold up.
ReplyDeleteThere's going to be MORE Nutella recipes!?
If I had Nutella in my pantry right now, I would totally make this.
ReplyDeleteBOOKMARK!!!
ReplyDeleteI just died a little. That looks so good. I have nutella every morning! (Out of the jar, obviously)
ReplyDeleteOh my almost child.. This looks amazing. Will be making it and passing it on to my baker/nuts about nutella real-life daughter.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to hearing your news.
That looks awesome!! I love nutella :) A friend told me about your blog and I'm glad I found it...following now!
ReplyDeleteSo excited for your news! Though I think I know what it is :P
ReplyDeleteYou are seriously making me consider stealing my roommate's bananas and hiding them from her until they get brown so I can make this!
Feel free to send me a loaf :). And I don't recommend making jerky...it makes the whole house smell horrible.
ReplyDeleteI was raised on jerky love the smell
DeleteWow Emily - this bread looks amazing. I love the top part of any quick bread and the tops of this bread look so moist - yum! Nutella and banana together sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLoving the thought of Nutella swilted into banana bread Emily.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that looks amazing! you are so creative, Em. I can't wait to hear your news. Hope you can share it soon, I hate waiting!
ReplyDeleteThis is genius, pure genius! :-) I am going to have to make this one for sure.
ReplyDeleteI've been on the hunt for a good banana bread recipe for ages. I'll have to try this, looks divine. Love those swirls
ReplyDeleteMy husband would LOVE if I made him this!! Going to check the fridge for unsalted butter at this very moment!
ReplyDeleteYay, I found someone else that shops at Aldi's! I buy most of my baking products there. They have such good prices and quality. Anyhow, would you believe I have a jar of Nutella in the pantry and two over ripe bananas! I also DO NOT care that we are going through another heat wave. I have to make this recipe asap! Thanks Emily!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear/read the career news! Sounds very exciting!
ReplyDeleteAnother Nutella treat - perfection.
That's just plain genius! Granted I'd eat my shoes if they were covered with Nutella, but really, this looks amazing. Will make as soon as I get my hands on bananas.
ReplyDeleteNutella and banana huuummm so mouthwatering!
ReplyDeleteOh man - this looks SO good. Thanks, Emily. I'm definitely going to make some of this over the weekend.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds good! I made your peanut butter chocolate chip banana bread a couple weeks ago, and it was so good! I will have to try this one too...I have some ripe bananas in the freezer waiting to be baked!
ReplyDeleteYour lucky, one jar of Nutella doesn't last long here. I ate it all!
ReplyDeleteNow, I got to go to the store to buy more to make this bread. Maybe I should get about four jars this time?

Somehow I've missed the nutella train. I guess I was denied this treat as a kid because I've never gotten around to trying it since. I should probably change that because this bread looks scrumptious. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love how far a jar of Nutella can get you! This sounds awesome, and congrats on the career news, whatever it is!
ReplyDeleteSweet mercy this looks good. You have me on the edge of my seat with your career announcement.
ReplyDeleteMmmmmm I would eat this everyday for breakfast if I could!
ReplyDeletetwo of my favorites to make bread...awesome ! the slices look so rich and yummy :D
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of mixing the Nutella into the batter. I made a ricotta poundcake with a Nutella swirl. It was delicious and decadent but quite rich. Mixing the Nutella into the batter rather than just swirling it in makes for a lighter cake that you can eat every day.
ReplyDeleteMy kids are going to love this!
ReplyDeleteThat looks AMAZING! I am deff going to try that....It kind of looks like marble cake
ReplyDeleteThis sounds incredible! I WILL be making this soon! Thanks for sharing =]
ReplyDeleteBoy do I love nutella.. I bought the knock off version once and it was just as good! The spread with bananas is soo good!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteNailholic, good point!
Erin, agree.
Pookie, mmm pumpkin!
Vicki, I haven't! Maybe it's only around during the holidays?
Maggie, I'm glad you liked that bread!
Sarah, YES!
Hi Frances, thanks for reading! And thank you to your friend.
Joanne, nope! :)
Debbie, love Aldi!
Alicia, I'm glad you liked it!
Cindy, lol. :)
Hey,
ReplyDeleteI made this last weekend and it was de-licious! It was the first time I did a "marbled" recipe, and it turned out great.
I also have some questions that are unrelated to this post. First of all, do you use blogger to host your blog? If so, how come the adress is only .com and not .blogspot? Do you have many options to decorate and change your blog's configuration? Is it possible to create a blog without having adds on the sides?
I'm trying to repare some website and I'm wondering if creating a new one would be more simple..
Thanks!
how on earth have i gotten so far behind? geez. regardless of my slacking, i'm happy to see this unique and gorgeous loaf of banana bread--nice work!
ReplyDeletelooks lovely and is there anyone who does not like nutella???
ReplyDeleteHi Florianne! Thanks so much for trying the recipe! I'm glad you liked it.
ReplyDeleteI do use Blogger to host my blog. I bought my own address through Godaddy. (There's an option to do so on Blogger.) Yes, I think you have more freedom to design how you want your blog to look on Blogger. You don't have to have ads on your site.
Making this for the second time...it is soooo yummy! My stash of Nutella was just waiting for a recipe like this. delish!
ReplyDeleteI bought my first ever jar of nutella last week and this was the first thing i made with it! http://countingmycupcakes.blogspot.com/2011/08/wakey-wakey-time-to-bakey.html
ReplyDeleteIt was sooooo good! I think I ate half the loaf at once.
I would LOVE to make this!!! YUM!!! I just have one question....the instructions mention salt, but there is no salt on the ingredient list!
ReplyDeleteOh no! You're right! I fixed it. :) Thanks for catching that.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU:) As much as I love to bake, I'm still not talented enough to figure this kinda stuff out on my own! I have a jar of Nutella and a little girl who loves to help me bake. Guess what we'll be making tomorrow? ;)
ReplyDeletei popped this in the oven half an hour ago (its 3:30am here, wicked insomnia) and it smells SOO good. so here i sit, indian style on my kitchen counter, sipping sparkling grape juice and watching Your Highness waiting for this to come out of the oven. i know i won't be able to wait until it cools. yum. thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI foung out that if u zap the nutella in the microwave, for about 30 secconds than that makes it easier to put on top of the bread almost like a glaze.
ReplyDeleteJust made this today... delicious!!
ReplyDeleteI have this in the oven right now and it smells amazing! Can't wait to taste it.
ReplyDeleteYour printable recipe omits the salt measurement, just to let you know.
ReplyDeleteMade this on Friday and by Sunday, its gone! The kids and hubby loved it! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI just stumbled upon your blog a week ago! Thank goodness!!! I made this recipe this morning and it came out moist and delicious. I took it to work and received compliments about how 'pretty' it looked! It was definitely not overly sweet, which was nice. I didn't see the salt measurement in the version I printed, but did confirm what was needed by revisiting your blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing! I'll be making another one for my church friends soon!!
Unfortunately, the salt is not listed in the printable version of the recipe, so I left it out :( Hopefully it won't make too much difference.
ReplyDeleteI loved your recipe. Honestly, I tried a few recipes, and yours was hands-down the favorite.
ReplyDeleteI tried to pin it so that I could reuse your recipe later, using the "pin it" function of pinterest and I got an error message (something about not being able to pin from non-html pages.) And when I use your pin-it button, most of your photos don't show up. Maybe you did that intentionally... but you have such fabulous photos, I would love to see your photo on there!
Hi Kristina! I'm so glad you liked the recipe!
DeleteOh no, I did not do that intentionally. I installed that pin button myself, and wasn't sure if it even worked correctly. So I guess I know my answer! I'm sorry... I will try to figure it out.
Omg this was delish! I made a blogpost about it :)
