Crock Pot Hot Chocolate
10 cups reduced fat milk
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1/4 teaspoon salt
Place all ingredients in a crock pot. Cook on high for 1 1/2 hours, whisking occasionally, until smooth. For extra creamy and smooth hot chocolate, blend using an immersion blender... this removes any graininess.

ReplyDeleteSomewhere I have a recipe for that classic French style hot chocolate where you make a thick chocolate syrup and then dilute it with as much milk as you like. I have yet to make it. Must remedy that. I wonder if that's doable in a crock pot.
ReplyDeleteIf you're serving this for a party, it probably couldn't hurt to add a bit of kahlua, or Baileys, or Frangelico. Just sayin...
