Ingredients:
- 5 large bananas, split
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- Sprinkles
Place a wooden skewer in each banana. Melt together chocolate chips and oil in a medium bowl, in the microwave, until melted and smooth, stirring every twenty second. Dip bananas in melted chocolate and place on a plastic wrap lined plate. Cover with sprinkles. Freeze until frozen! Package or eat them immediately.
Oh my gosh! I love frozen bananas with chocolate! The best ones I've ever had were in Hawaii at a little roadside stand where they dipped them in macadamia nuts and coconut. Yours look just as good! :)
ReplyDeleteCheck out my blog Rachel's Kitchen and my new cookbook The Spring Kitchen
Yum. Why didn't I do that? :)
DeleteThese look great! :)
ReplyDeleteIf you wanted to make them even healthier, you could use coconut oil, cocoa powder, and a little maple syrup, agave, or honey :) super delicious!
Whaaaat? That's a fabulous idea! Would the chocolate set up okay?
DeleteThis is such a good idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cathleen!
DeleteThis reminds me of when I was a kid and my family would vacation in OCMD. There was/is? a stand on the boardwalk that sold frozen bananas and I would always get one!
ReplyDeleteAw that's so fun! You should make them!
DeleteOf course it's a healthy dessert - lots of potassium in those bananas and good stuff in the chocolate!! ;-D
ReplyDeleteSee?!
DeleteDoes the coconut oil help the chocolate stay on the bananas? I never tried making them myself, but every time I have bought a frozen banana, I would take one bite and the chocolate would completely crumble off. Very frustrating!
ReplyDeleteI remember my friends I had used to make fun of the bananas when we would go to the Renaissance Faire in the summer. I won't say what, but if you use a little imagination, I'm sure you'll come pretty close. :-D
YES. I had no issues with the chocolate coming off at all. Yes! Hahaha you're dirty!
DeleteI've only seen a few episodes of Fargo, the rest are on the DVR. My husband loves that show. Now, these frozen bananas look amazing! I've never had one, but keep thinking I'll make some and then don't. I love how easy your recipe is to prepare. I have a few ripe bananas ready to become these delicious treats. Pinning
ReplyDeleteYou must watch!! Thanks for the pin, Cindy!
DeleteOmg I love Fargo! Thanks for the link - it led me to other YouTube videos about the series, and I'm freaking out that "Lester Nygaard" is British! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAmzfwKhGQI
ReplyDeleteHaha oh yes! I watched all of the Fargo clips on youtube. There aren't very many, actually! I'm so glad you like the show too!
DeleteOh, and thanks for the frozen banana recipe too. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou're quite welcome!
DeleteWow, these are SO easy to make! And obviously health food...which means I can have two? Or double chocolate dip them? :P
ReplyDeleteI had one for breakfast yesterday, actually!
